FORMER CHINOOK'ERS INDUCTED INTO PNS HALL OF FAME

FORMER CHINOOK'ERS INDUCTED INTO PNS HALL OF FAME: On July 31, 2004, Pacific Northwest Swimming inducted nineteen individuals into the PNS Hall of Fame.  The project has been in the works for many years to recognize the best of the best that have been in our association.  There are four categories of candidates; Athlete, Coach, Contributor, and Milestone Achiever.  

Mary Wayte Bradburne who swam with Chinook from 1976-1984 was inducted as an athlete.  Her achievements included: 1984 Double Olympic Gold Medalist, 1988 Olympic Silver and Bronze Medalist, 1983, 1985 and 1988 National Champion.  USA National Team Member 1982-1988, Two-time NCAA Champion; 26 time NCAA All American.

Jack Ridley, Jr. was also inducted as a coach.  Jack was the head coach of  Chinook from 1976 to 1995.  Jack coached former world record holder Jo Harshbarger, Mary Wayte, and Turkish Olympian Ugur Tanner.

Jo Harshbarger was also inducted.  Jo was a former world record holder, 1972 Olympic Team Member, 1974 National Championships, 4-time National champion, 1973 Silver Medalist at World Championships.  Jo was the head age group coach from 1980-1981 at Chinook.

Other inductees included:  Rick Colella, Megan Quann, Lynn Colella, Nancy Ramey, Kaye Hall Gregg, Helene Madison, Steve Krause, Jack Medica, and Dr. Jack Horsely as athletes.   Bob Miller, Ray Daughters, Dick Hannula, Earl Ellis, John Tallman, and Jack Torney Jr. as coaches, and Bob Regan as a contributor.
